A: For the swim, you need to be wearing a bathing suit, a one piece is strongly recommended. For the bike and run, some women choose to wear their bathing suit but you may want to put on a pair of shorts and shirt to go over your suit. Men must finish the race with a shirt on. There are no changing stations so you will be wearing your suit underneath anything that you decide to put over it. If choose to wear a wetsuit, you should wear whatever you will be biking in under your wetsuit to save time and transition more easily. You don't have to have a wetsuit to race, so don't worry. They do help you float a bit better in the water which can improve your swimming and that's why people wear them. Wetsuits can feel constrictive for first time wearers so spend some extra time playing in the water before the race so that you get VERY comfortable in it.
Q: What is the minimum and maximum age to compete?
A: The minimum age to compete is 12 years old for a relay team but the team's cyclist must be at least 15. There is no maximum age to compete. If under 18 you will need a parent/legal guardian to sign the waivers and be there during race day. Please check out our registration page for age groups.
Q: How soon before the event starts should I be there?
A: Arrive Early! The race begins at 7:00 am but a half hour won't be enough time to get everything done. Give yourself an hour, even more if you can, especially if you choose to be body marked then instead of at packet pickup the days before, so that way you won't be rushed. Reminder, there is NO day of race registration.
